Strategies and Reports
Waste Management Strategy
The Wiltshire Waste Partnership (the County Council and the four District Councils) has agreed a strategy to increase our recycling rates and to decrease the amount of waste that goes to landfill, as well as identified new services and facilities needed to deliver these targets.
The strategy is set out in the Joint Municipal Waste Management Strategy 2006. Click here for more information.
Waste Composition Survey
In 2005 and again in 2007, the Wiltshire Waste Partnership (WWP) secured funding from Defra to undertake surveys on the composition of waste in Wiltshire.
Data from the surveys will be used when planning further recycling collections and to assess how waste that is not currently recycled might be best diverted from landfill into more productive uses. Click here for more information.
Landfill Diversion Contract
In November 2005, Wiltshire County Council began a tender process to consider alternative ways of disposing of residual waste that would otherwise be landfilled. Click here for more information.
