Mobile phones are collected at our Household Recycling Centres. From here they are passed on to a variety of charities (including Help the Aged)for re-use or recycling. Remember to remove the SIM card from the phone.

Take your used printer cartridges to your nearest Household Recycling Centre. Here they are recyled to raise money for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.

All types of spectacles can be recycled at our Household Recycling Centres here in Wiltshire. From here they are processed through Help the Aged where they are sorted, cleaned and graded using computerised equipment. They are then sent to ophthalmic clinics in countries from Brazil to Kenya.

Items of furniture received at our Household Recycling Centres are sold for reuse.

Paint and toxic chemical are sent to Viridor Waste Management for treatment. Here chemicals are removed and processed.

Tyres are re-processed with Waste Tyre Solutions after they are received at our Household Recycling Centres. They can be reused by 'retreating' them - i.e. replacing the tread section or by replacing the rubber over the entire surface. Recycled tyres can be used in engineering projects, for sports and play surfaces, as carpet underlay, garden mulch, in brake linings and as shoe soles.

Oil is boiled and left to settle; any water is removed at this stage and the oil is filtered to remove metal particles. The process is repeated to produce a brown liquid that is used in the furnaces at power stations, for heating tarmac and drying stone in quarries, as an alternative to fossil fuels. Oil colleected at our Household Recycling Centres are sent to Malary Waste Management Solutions for processing.
