Your Waste: Building Materials

We can receive the following building materials (amongst others) at our Household Recycling Centres here in Wiltshire. Here's how we re-process these items and how they are re-used in other areas of construction and landscaping.

Timber is chipped at a depot near Swindon and then it is taken to Kronospan Ltd in Wrexham - the leading manufacturer of wood based panel products and laminated flooring worldwide. Click here to visit their website.

Recycled timber has a variety of uses from MDF to laminate and flooring.

This is screened and cleaned and then is used as aggregate in site infrastructure.

Soil is re-used for landfilll restoration and can be re-sold for landscaping projects.

Scrap metal is re-processed by EJ Shanley & Sons and also by JW Ransome & Sons.

Chipboard is shredded into small pieces and used in place of aggregate for site infrastructure.
