News from RFW
Some black box collection rounds in North Wilts, West Wilts & Salisbury were not completed yesterday, and it is anticipated that some households due a collection today (Friday 20th) may also be affected.
The cause of this is the volume of extra recyclate being put out by those residents who did not receive a collection during the week commencing 2nd February, when many black box collections were suspended as a result of the significant snowfall that affected the county.
The service providers, Hills Waste Solutions Ltd, have put on extra vehicles in anticipation of the increased amount of recyclates being put out for collection from these households, but there has been so much extra material that they have unable to complete many of the rounds.
Any rounds not completed yesterday will be completed this morning (Friday 20th). This will mean that this mornings scheduled collections will start later than normal, and will mean that many will not be completed by the end of the day. These will be completed on Saturday 21st, after which all collections should return to normal.
Residents should therefore be advised to leave their black boxes out for collection. Hills have apologised for the ongoing disruption to some rounds but we thank residents for their continued patience and understanding as this will allow us to ensure that all the material that they have sorted for recycling will be collected and kept out of landfill.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
