The Black box is too small for all my recycling. Can I have a second black box?
You can put any extra recyclable materials out to be recycled by putting them in open carrier bags alongside the box, preferably sorted by material type (i.e. papers in one bag, bottles in another). You may prefer to put your newspapers and magazines in open carrier bags and your loose recyclables in the box itself.
N.B. We are currently unable to collect carrier bags for recycling so, once emptied, these will be placed back inside your upturned black box.
However, if you find you are regularly filling your recycling box, residents can have a second box.
Will my black box collection date change because of Bank Holidays?
Collection days may alter during weeks where there is a Bank Holiday - these changes are also highlighted on the online collection calendar.
If you are unsure of when your box will be collected, please call the relevant number below:

Can I put shredded paper in my black box?
Unfortunately due to litter problems shredded paper can not be accepted in the black recycling boxes. Our previous experience of handling shredded paper has shown that in emptying it into the vehicle, it often gets blown away and creates a litter problem.
It can be taken to mini bring sites across Wiltshire or any of Wiltshire’s Household Recycling Centres. Click here to find your nearest mini bring site or household recycling centre.
