Your Waste: Cardboard

icon

Recycling cardboard involves soaking it in water and agitating it to release fibres, turning them back into pulp. Metal and ink contaminants are removed, additional finishing chemicals are added; the pulp is pressed into sheets and dried.

Wiltshire sends its collected cardboard to St Regis Paper Co Ltd

in Kent. Click here to visit their website- and locate the Kemsley

Mill link (bottom left) for

re-processing information.

Remember to collapse and squash all carboard boxes when you are taking them to Household Recycling Centres and bring site areas. This helps to save space in the container, enabling us to collect more from each site.

West Wiltshire residents can now take their cardboard to a select number of mini recycling points. Click here for more information.

We can all compost small amounts of cardboard in home garden composters. Click here for more information.
