Charities are voluntary or not-for–profit organisations set-up to provide a service to the community. Many provide services to disadvantaged people in Wiltshire and others are based in the County.
In the operation of these charities items are donated which my not be suitable for resale or passing on to individuals. To assist these charities Wiltshire Council operates a discretionary scheme to enable then to take items to the household recycling centre for recycling wherever possible or for disposal.
Passes are issued for a 12 month period to allow each charity to take their separated waste for recycling.
All charities must be registered with the Environment Agency for exemptions to carry waste before a pass can be issued. Click here for the application form.
Discretionary passes are issued to those charities registered with the charity commission. Smaller charities that are not required to register with the charity commission and voluntary organisations must provide a copy of their constitution.
