In Wiltshire we recycled 40.5% of our waste last year, a third of this through the HRC's.
Temporary Closure of Amesbury Household Recycling Centre
14 June - 18 June 2010
The Household Recycling Centre in Amesbury will be closed from Monday 14 June until Friday 18 June 2010.
A new compaction system is going to be installed to improve the site efficiency by allowing much more wood and cardboard to be collected in a smaller space. This will reduce the lorry traffic to empty the bins and reduce our impact on Wiltshire's environment.

Can use my van to take recycling to the HRC's?
Wiltshire residents are permitted to dispose of household waste at any Household Recycling Centre in Wiltshire.
However, the HRC's are not licensed to recieve commercial waste - that means any material created by business activity. It is therefore against the law to take business waste to a HRC. For this reason, anyone depositing waste that looks commercial in nature may be questioned by site staff and asked to fill in an information form. Council enforcement staff may use this information for further checks.
Residents are able to use vans to visit the HRC's, however you should be aware that :-
(a) You may be asked about the waste that you are depositing
(b) Large vans may be difficult to manoeveure at sites, which are often very busy
