COOKING OIL RECYCLING
Cooking oil recycling tanks have been installed at all 10 of Wiltshire's Household Recycling Centres.
You can find information about your nearlest Household Recycling Centre here.
The scheme refines cooking oil into a biofuel used for generating electricity. With just one litre of used cooking oil generates enough electricity to make 240 cups of tea, and one tonne provides enough to power the average home for a year.
Currently the amount of cooking oil poured down drains costs the UK rate payer around £15 million a year.
RE-PROCESSING
Cooking oil is taken to Chemical Recoveries Ltd in Bristol where it is re-processed.
